To put the compass into sleep mode:
Lay the compass face down or face up
and it will go to “sleep” in about five minutes.
The compass will go to sleep
if it does not move for five minutes.
To wake up the compass:
Position the compass upright and rotate it 10 degrees
The compass will wake up from sleep mode in less than one minute.
Battery power level:
The battery level will only be displayed if it is below 30% charged, “LO” will appear on the display for 5 seconds when the compass turns on. Charge it in direct sunlight.
To charge the compass:
The compass needs to be recharged directly in the sun for 2-3 days, 3-4 times a year. I recharge mine on my picnic table in the Spring, mid Summer, and in the Fall before the end of the sailing season.
